Do you want to support community events and be a volunteer Event Traffic Marshal?

The Event Traffic Marshal eLearn program is designed to provide event volunteers with knowledge and skills in basic traffic control on the roads arounds special events, such as fetes, festivals, marathons, fun runs/walks and sporting events.

There are two (2) parts to the Event Traffic Marshal program.

Information

Part 1: Event Traffic Marshal Eligibility check

The eligibility check is a short set of questions that participants MUST complete before gaining access to Part 2 of the program. This eligibility check is designed to ensure that participants are aware of the physical fitness and suitability requirements for the role, and that only participants who indicate they meet these requirements proceed to Part 2 of the program.

Part 2: Event Traffic Marshal eLearn

This training module will allow participants to gain the skills and knowledge to carry out traffic control as an Event Traffic Marshal at special events.

Course outline

This program will cover:

  • Event Traffic Marshal eligibility check - designed so participants can identify if they meet the physical fitness and suitability requirements for an Event Traffic Marshal
  • Roles and responsibilities of Event Traffic Marshal and Event Organiser
  • Common hazards when carrying out traffic control duties as an Event Traffic Marshal
  • Playing it safe when carrying out traffic control duties as an Event Traffic Marshal
  • How to control traffic.

Audience

  • Volunteers who wish to support community events as an Event Traffic Marshal.
  • People who have been previously engaged as an Event Traffic Marshal and wish to refresh their knowledge.

Prerequisites

Successful completion of the Event Traffic Marshal eligibility check is required to access the Event Traffic Marshal eLearn.
