This course sets out the design philosophy principles in technical documents standards, drawings and specifications which underpin the creation of a successful design.
It will define the design domain concept where the design domain for a new road is traditionally referred to as the ‘normal design domain’.
Program Outcomes
- Appreciate the intention of road design, its domain and role / responsibilities as a designer and engineer.
- Being able to recognise, consider, and produce designs within the extended design domain or as design exceptions as part of geometrical road design for Transport and Main Roads projects.
- Be able to consider design problems and develop appropriate solutions for each project.
