This course will provide guidance on the impact of Advance Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technologies during the Practical Driver Test (PDT). It will assist Driver Examiners interpret critical thinking and decision making through efficient driver use of ADAS features on the road.
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technologies are increasingly common in new model vehicles and are designed to improve vehicle and road safety and to help drivers with certain driving tasks.
Common ADAS technology functions include (but is not limited to) the following:
· Warning functions (e.g. blind spot warning, parking warning)
· Vehicle control functions (e.g. hill start assist, lane centering assistance)
· Convenience functions (e.g. cruise control, active parking assistance).
