Smart Ticketing Safety Induction: Regional Bus

Smart Ticketing Project

About this course

Welcome to the Smart Ticketing Safety Induction: Regional Bus module.

This module describes likely hazards that will be encountered when working on bus fleets, and during reasonable times of rest and relaxation, in regional areas of Queensland.

It will also address unfamiliar hazards you may encounter during your time in the region, like abnormal weather conditions, site conditions, venomous animals and remote living.

This training is supplementary to the Smart Ticketing Safety Induction module and for those working on the installation team in regional Queensland.

At the end of this module there is an assessment and the pass mark is 100%.

Upon completion of this module, you should be able to explain the:

  • requirements for availability and communication of Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Risk Assessments (RAs)
  • importance of declaring prescription medication and the legislative requirements to be drug and alcohol-free whilst onsite
  • main hazards and risk exposure when working in regional Queensland
  • best-practice advice for fatigue management and preparing for predicted weather events
  • additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for working in extreme heat
  • awareness and treatment of heat-related illnesses and heat exhaustion
  • controls that must be in place to manage these unique risks
  • immediate actions if you or others are injured from these hazards; and
  • investigation, reporting and management of incidents.

Assessment

The pass mark is 100% and upon successful completion, you will receive a Smart Ticketing Project Induction: Regional Bus Pink Card.
