The PIP PMI Estimating and Risk team has developed new rail Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and technical specification suites with supporting Method of Measurement for rail activities (analogous to Main Roads Specifications – MRS for roads). The new rail WBS and specification suites aim to support the planning and delivery of rail infrastructure projects in QTRIP through improved cost estimating practices and enhanced consistency of tender documents.

The new rail MRS specifications suites are as follows:

• MRS330 – Trackwork
• MRS331 – Overhead Line Equipment (OHLE)
• MRS333 – Signalling and Communications

The new rail technical specifications provide a high level of consistency, transparency, and quality for rail elements included in rail projects.
