Psychosocial Hazards at Work

About this course

This is a 30-minute interactive course to increase employee knowledge of the Queensland Work Health and Safety (Psychosocial Risks) Amendment Regulation 2022 and Workplace Health and Safety Queensland Managing the Risk of Psychosocial Hazards at Work Code of Practice.

Work health and safety laws aim to protect the health, safety and welfare of all workers at work. The Work Health and Safety Act 2011 requires that a person conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU) must ensure, so far as reasonably practicable, the health and safety of workers at the workplace. Duties, or responsibilities, are also placed on managers, supervisors and, workers at a workplace.

Updates to WHS regulation require employers to treat psychosocial risks in a similar manner to physical risks. Employers are required to identify psychosocial hazards, assess and mitigate risks, review the effectiveness of controls, demonstrate leadership commitment and consult with employees.
