About this course
The Recognise, Respond, Refer (RRR) training module has been developed as a key component of TMR's efforts to promote a safe and supportive workplace culture. This training module is aimed at empowering all TMR employees to recognise, respond and refer individuals who are either using violence, in threat of using, or experiencing domestic and family violence.
This module offers comprehensive information on the nature of domestic and family violence, the impact it has on individuals, families, the workplace and society at large and provides practical tools and resources to effectively and appropriately respond to complex issues that arise as a result of domestic and family violence. It is a mandatory requirement for all TMR employees to complete the training module and will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. If this topic or the training content is triggering, there is an option to opt out of this mandatory training.
The training module has been jointly developed by the Department of Communities, Disability Services and Child Safety, and Challenge DV. It is a training program for all TMR employees, regardless of their individual differences, or position within the organisation.
While the primary focus of the module is on cisgendered women who experience domestic violence, it is crucial to acknowledge that domestic violence can affect any person, at any time, irrespective of their gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, background, income, or education. We all have a responsibility to play our part in breaking the silence that keeps domestic violence hidden behind a veil of secrecy and shame.
By completing the Recognise, Respond, Refer training module, TMR employees will be better equipped to recognise the signs of domestic violence, respond appropriately and refer those in need to the appropriate support services. It is our hope that this training will create a safer and more supportive workplace culture, and contribute towards building a more inclusive and equitable society for all.
