The Department of Transport and Main Roads' (TMR) Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) Part 4: Speed Controls outlines the requirements for establishing speed zones and the process for undertaking speed limit reviews within Queensland. A review of TMR's MUTCD Part 4 includes a revised speed limit setting process that is more proactive while seeking to establish speed limits that encourage safe mobility.

This workshop will provide an overview of the changes to the MUTCD Part 4 and a step-by-step demonstration of the new speed limit review process.  Participants will have the opportunity to undertake the process themselves using selected case studies that represent a variety of Queensland road environments.
