About this course

FBT overview is designed for cost centre managers and affected employees. It explores the various types of fringe benefits, identifies reportable fringe benefits and explains the employee declaration forms that need to be completed to minimise TMR's Fringe Benefits Tax.

TMR has to pay tax on any fringe benefits it provides to employees or employees' associates. This costs the department approximately $2M - $3M each year. Under Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) legislation, we are able to reduce this liability by applying relevant exemptions and reductions.

To do this, we require affected employees to provide appropriate and correct FBT declarations. This course is about the various types of fringe benefits, reportable fringe benefits and employee declaration forms that need to be completed to minimise TMR's FBT.
